EVERGREENS

Evergreens (Conifers) are great for privacy or an interesting foundation planting, they provide all season form, texture and colour. Evergreens can be used as a windbreak, hedge, and unusual features in the landscape. We have all shapes and size for sunny or shady locations.

CEDAR

BLACK- 5m high, 1.5m wide. Similar to the prymidal variety but broader at the base. Has a dark green, dense foliage. Excellent hedging plant.
DANICA- 1m high, 1m wide. Globe. A slow growing, compact globe evergreen with deep green foliage.
DEGROOT'S SPIRE- 4m high, 80cm wide. Narrow, Pyramidal. The superior choice for narrow spaces. Slow growing and densely branched.
EMERALD- 4m high, 1m wide. Pyramidal. Compact, narrow pyramidal. Dense emerald foliage. Heat tolerant. Most popular upright Cedar.
EUROPE GOLD- 4m high, 1m wide. Upright. An upright conical form similar to "Emerald" only yellow. Slow growing. Foliage an attractive golden-yellow, orange-yellow in winter.
GEORGE PEABODY- 3.5m high, 2m wide. Broad. Upright. A broad golden upright Cedar with deeper orange-gold colour in winter. An excellent contrast with dark green conifers.
GOLDEN GLOBE- 1m high, 1m wide. Globe. Bright gold, bushy compact form with golden yellow foliage that holds it colour all year.
HOLMSTRUP- 2.5m high, 1m wide. Pryamidal. Slow growing compact pyramidal with rich, bright green foliage that holds its colour all year.
LITTLE GIANT GLOBE- 1m high, 1m wide. Globe. Slow growing dwarf globe with rich freen foliage.
PYRAMID- 15m high, 1.2m wide. Pyramidal. The growth is compact, narrow and erect and widely used as an acccent plant or for screening.
RHEINGOLD- 1.2m high, 1m wide. Mounded. Slow growing, mounded to conical shape with bronze foliage that holds colour all year.
SUNKIST- 2m high, 1m wide. Pyramidal. Very dense broad pryamidal Cedar, with golden- yellow foliage.
UNICORN- 3m high, 1.2 m wide. A narrow columnar Cedar darker and denser than the Pyramidal Cedar.

CYPRESS

BLUE NOOTKA FALSE CYPRESS- 20m high, 5m wide. Pyramidal. A large evergreen with bluish horizontal branching. Good for specimen planting in sheltered area.
DWARF THREADLEAF FALSE CYPRESS- 1m high, 1m wide. Globose. A dwarf speciman plant with rich green, broadly upright fan-shaped sprays. Slow growth.
FERNSPRAY GOLD- 2m high, 1-2m wide, Upright. Bright yellow foliage has a fern like appearance. Slow growth.
SAFFRON SPRAY- 1.5m high, 1m wide. Upright Broad. Feathery green juvenile foliage. The mature foliage is very attractive with its bright splashes of golden-yellow sprinkled throughout. A good contrast colour.
TEMPLEHOF CYPRESS- 1.25m high, 1m wide. Rounded. Dark green foliage in broad overlapping whorls on this dwarf rounded plant. Foliage turns bronze in winter.
THREADLEAF FALSE CYPRESS- 3m high, 2m wide. Mounding. A very hardy evergreen with dropping stringy branches. Slow growth.
GOLDEN THREADLEAF FALSE CYPRESS- 3m high, 2m wide. Mounding. Hardy evergreen with stringy branches and striking yellow foliage. Slow growth.
WEEPING NOOTKA FALSE CYPRESS- 10m high, 5m wide. Pyramidal. Evergreen with pendulous branches and an upright habit.

DAWN REDWOOD

DAWN REDWOOD- 25m high, 7m wide. Pyramidal. Deciduous conifer with a dense pyramidal habit. Fall colour red-brown or orange-brown.
MATTHAEI BROOM REDWOOD- Grafted. 2m high, 1m wide. Oval. A dwarf, deciduous conifer redwood are quite rare which makes this plant unique. A mounding forming plant with dropping light green deciduous foliage turning to bronze in the autumn.
GOLDRUSH REDWOOD- 5m high, 6m wide. Pyramidal. A deciduous conifer with bright yellow needles. Foliage is scorch resistant in summer.

FIR

BALSAM- 20m high, 8m wide. Pyramidal. Slow growing, soft fragrant needles. A popular variety of Christmas trees. Perfers moist to damp soil.
ROCKY MOUNTAIN FIR- 2.5m high, 1m wide. Conical. A dwarf variety with silvery-blue needles, is slow growing and very compact. Excellent for a rock garden specimen. Densely branched.
WHITE FIR- 20m high, 4.5m wide. Pyramdial. A large excellent specimen conifer, with a medium growth rate. Pefers moist, well drained soil. Tolerant of drought and city conditions.

HEMLOCK

CANADIAN- 20m high, 5m wide. Pyramidal. A native evergreen with dark glossy green needles has a graceful habit. Slow growth. Has a soft texture.

JUNIPER (SPREADING)

BAR HARBOUR- 15cm high, 1m wide. Prostrate. Tightly matted stems hug the ground. Summer foliage is soft blue-green, silvery-plum in the winter.
BLUE CHIP- 20cm high, 1.2m wide. Prostrate. Silvery-blue colour with fine foliage, low mounding, its spreading habit crates a superior ground cover.
BLUE PACIFIC- 30cm high, 1m wide. Prostrate. A decorative ground cover, excells in a low trailing habit with the colouring of ocean blue-green to the foliage.
BLUE RUG- 15cm high, 1m wide. Horizontal, Spreading. Outstanding colour makes it an ideal selection for ground cover. Tolerant of salt spray.
BLUE STAR- 60cm high, 1m wide. Mounded. A dwarf bush of dense steel-blue foliage is ideal for rock gardens or bonsai. Irregular growth with wide spreading branches.
CALGARY CARPET- 25cm high, 1.2m wide. Low, Spreading. Distinctive selection. Displays a much lower, more spreading habit with overlapping branches. Attractive soft green foliage.
CANADIAN GOLDEN- 50cm high, 1.2m wide. Horizontal, Spreading. Dense, low growing Juniper with bright buttery-yellow in the spring changing to yellow-bronze in the fall.
COMPACT ANDORRA- 50cm high, 1.5m wide. Horizontal, Spreading. It is low and spreading with foliage that is grayish-green turning to a plum shade in the fall.
GOLDSTAR- 1.25m high, 1.75m wide. Compact. A low growing with dense growth. Golden colour with bright gold tips.
ICEE BLUE- 10cm high, 2.2m wide. Low, compact. A compct ground cover that resembles a thich carpet. The foliage is purple-tinged tips.
JAPANESE GARDEN- 20cm high, 1m wide. Prostrate. A ground hugging spreader with delightful cushion form and beautiful bluish-green foliage. Oftern used in bonsai.
MINT JULIP- 1.5m high, 1.5m wide. Horizontal, Spreading. Mint-green foliage with a compact habit of upward arching branches creates a fountain-like form. Can work well as a ground cover, hedge, screen, or windbreak. Requires little maintenance.

JUNIPER (UPRIGHT)

BLUE ARROW- 4m high, 80cm wide. Pyramidal. An upright selection with bright blue foliage and tight compact branches. Requires little trimming.
BLUE HAVEN- 4m high, 1.5m wide. Pyramidal. Neat, pyramidal shrub with strikingly sky-blue foliage in all seasons. It is a heavy cone-bearer. Requires little pruning to maintain its form. attractive accent, hedge or windbreak.
MOUNTBATTEN- 4m high, 2m wide. Pyramidal. Outstanding, evergreen shurb with dense, upright brnaches clothed in sharply pointed, bright green needles. Works well as a hedge, screen or windbreak. Grayish green foliage.
SKYROCKET- 4.6m high, 80cm wide. Pyramidal. An extremely narrow, rocket-like, upright evergreen. Very distinctive light green foliage. Desirable near entrances and places where broader evergreens are out of place.
WICHITA BLUE- 4m high, 1.2m wide. Pyramidal. An attractive evergreen with a broad full upright habit and blue foliage that stays bright all year. it is great plant for windbreaks, screens and privacy hedges, or it makes a great accent plant, anywhere in the garden.

PINE

BRISTLECONE- 2m high, 1m wide. Upright. A dwarf pine native to the American Rockies. Ideal for rockery gardens and bonsai. Dark, green needles are often scattered with white resin droplets, that is often mistaken for scale. Slow growing.
CHALET- 4m high, 1.5m wide. A stricking blue-green needles that is dense, conical grower. Useful where space is an issue like corners or near grates and doors.
DWARF- 1.5m high. 2m wide. Pyramidal. A tight dense form makes this an excellent plant for foundation and entrance setting.
JAPANESE RED- 3m high. It is slow growing tree with a shrubby appearance. Needles are soft, long, dark green with a ale blue tint. Bark is orange to red hence its name Red Pine.
MUGHO- 1.5m high, 2m wide. Mounding. A compact evergreen that maintains mounded shape with yearly pruning. Good for rock gardens and foundation planting.
PYRAMIDAL WHITE- 15m high, 3m wide. Pyramidal. Dense, pyramidal habit. Good for areas with narrow clearance.
SCOT'S- 20m high, 12m wide. Irregular. Adapts to most locations and soils. Useful as an irregular specimen, For a compact form, snip new growth in late spring.
SWISS STONE- 10m high, 2.5m wide. Narrow, Columnar. Slow growth and narrowly columnar, the narrowest of the upright pines.
VANDERWOLF- 6m high, 2m wide. Pyramidal. A popular variety that has a uniformly branches. It forms a large Pyramidal form that broadens with age. Blue-green foliage is stricking.
WEEPING WHITE- 6m high, 5m wide. Weeping. The weeping twisted foliage forms a good specimen in the landscape. Must be trained when young to form leader.

SPRUCE

BABY BLUE- 4m high, 2m wide. Pyramidal. An intense blue spruce. Slow growth.
COLORADO- 20m high, 6m wide. Pyramidal. Stong hardy grower. Makes a good ornamental tree.
COLORADO BLUE- 20m high, 6m wide. Pyramidal. A very adaptable spruce with seedling variation giving varying degree of blue foliage. Best known for the spruce family.
DWARF ALBERTA- 2m high, 1m wide. Conical. A slow growing evergreen with very fine foliage. May need winter protection to avoid needle burn.
FAT ALBERT- 5m high, 3m wide. Pyramidal. As the name implies, this spruce grows quite broad. It requires minimal training or pruning. Excellent specimen.
GLOBE BLUE- 1.5m high, 1.5m wide. Flat-topped. Blue colour all year long. Slow growing specimen plant. Prune leader out to keep flat shape.
HOOPSII- 12m high, 6m high. Pyrmidal. Slow growth when young, becoming on of the best shaped spruce. Very blue foliage.
ISELI FASTAGATA- 5m high, 3m wide. Upright narrow. An upright, compact columnar ornamental Blue Spruce with a very narrow habit. Has ascending branches. Unusual looking with bright blue foliage.
LITTLE GEM- 40cm high, 40cm wide. Globular. A very dense dwarf evergreen. Excellent for rock garden.
MONTGOMEY DWARF BLUE- 3.5m high, 2m wide. Pyramidal globe. A globe spruce with a slight pryrmidal habit. Slow growth.
NEST- 1m high, 2m wide. Flat-topped. A broad, dense spreader that usually has a depression in the middle, giving rise to the "NEST" name.
NORWAY- 20m high, 6m wide. Pyramidal. Young growth is light green, turning darker with maturity. Fast growth and can be used for a windbreak or specimen.
SERBIAN- 20m high, 7m wide. Foliage has blue-white bands on the underside of the branches. Use as a specimen or in small groupings.
WEEPING NORWAY- Height Varies, 3m wide. Weeping. This weeping form's height depends on the height at which it is staked. Can also be a ground cover.
WHITE- 20min high, 6m wide. Pyramidal. Tolerant of most weather and soil conditions. Usefull as a specimen, mass planting, hedge or windbreak. Native.

YEW

CLIPPED PYRAMIDAL JAPANESE- 2.4m high, 2m wide. Pyramidal. A trimmed selection of upright Yew. ideal for use as accent plants. Fast growing makes it a good selection for hedging that can be trimmed form summer to early fall. Plant parts are poisonous in ingested.
DENSE- 1.2m high, 2m wide. Rounded. A broad, compact, slow growing variety which can be used.
DWARF JAPANESE- 1m high, 1m wide. Spreading. Very hary dwarf with quite dark glossy foliage and spreading branches. Responds well to pruning and useful in any landscape. Showy red seeds and fruit offer colour contrast.
FAIRVIEW- 2m high, 1.5m wide. Semi-Upright. A very hardy, dark green, semi- upright dwarf form. Excellent for hedging.
GOLDEN- 1m high, 1.2m wide. Spreading. Low growing, compact, golden yellow needles. Excellent accent plant.
HICK'S- 3m high, 1m wide. Columnar. A narrow columnar form with upright branches bearing dark green needles.
HILL'S- 4m high, 1.5m wide. Columnar. A narrow columnar form with upright brnaches and small needles. Makes an excellent hedge.
JAPANESE- 2.4m high, 2m wide. Pyramidal. Amost satisfactory evergreen with attractive shiny green foliage. Popular for foundation planting and lawn specimens. Foliage is left unsheared for hedging.
